Although I don’t like to label the concept of ‘slow wedding’, the truth is that behind this there are certain premises that could be summed up in the art of enjoying without haste, of living the moment and savoring the worldly pleasures of life. Avoiding noise (and I don’t just mean ‘sound’), stress and crowds to celebrate an intimate and special wedding in the Visco Tower. This would be a perfect slow wedding.
I was fortunate enough to visit The Tower of Visco a couple of years ago, in a fleeting stay but enough to discover -and remember- the charm of this noble farmhouse dating from the fifteenth century, located in the middle of the region of Matarraña (Teruel). An exquisite boutique hotel distinguished as Relais & Châteaux, which denotes its luxury and exclusivity, formed by stone buildings, beautiful gardens, well-kept courtyards with fountains and breathtaking views surrounded only by nature. To contemplate the totally starry nightsitting on the terrace next to the bracero, that is one of the daily luxuries that are enjoyed here.
There is no television (but there is WIFI) because the idea is that you disconnect and don’t worry. Its cozy common rooms invite just that. Take a book from its large library with hundreds of titles in all languages, play chess or whatever you want, talk or listen to some music, enjoy the sun in the pool, take a walk around the estate or do some activity in the region. You are in your (secret) country house.
Eating breakfast in the kitchen of the Torre del Visco, all a declaration slow life.
I was beaten with breakfast. Here does not exist the breakfast of strict schedule, of continental cold buffet and of nimio awakening. In the Tower of the Visco the kitchen is always open to enjoy a cosy breakfast, seated on the large wooden table that is in the kitchen itself. If you prefer you can take it outdoors on the terrace overlooking the Valley, but I advise you to enjoy the best essence slow life by eating breakfast in the kitchen itself, where delicious freshly baked biscuits, homemade jams, variety of sausages and cheeses from the land, eggs and toasts made at the moment, smoky coffee and teas and infusions of loose leaves. Even the winery is open to the customer, who can enter and choose his glass of wine from a wide selection of wines from Aragon and Catalonia.
The supplement ‘El Semanal’ has referred to this small hotel as: “An immersion in country life sybarite, elegant and informal, warm, discreet and fun”; seasoned with a close and exquisite, where even the fresh flowers that decorate their nooks and crannies speak to you of the mime they put on everything.

The perfect place to enjoy an intimate wedding, slow and sybarite.
A destination wedding (destination wedding) in Teruel, very intimate and close in which to enjoy the surroundings and luxuries slow that has to celebrate a wedding in the Tower of Visco. Either a outdoor wedding in one of its elegant gardens to end up having dinner under the stars; a wedding in the heat of the fireplace (in its room for 25 people), or in the hotel’s own restaurant, built in one of the old stables of the farmhouse (and with capacity for 55 people). You can even book exclusively the whole hotelwith its 16 rooms and suites where you can accommodate guests and bride and groom, and enjoy an absolutely unforgettable weekend.
They offer their own service of wedding planner to help you plan all the details, although my advice for a slow wedding in the Tower of the Visco is to do without paraphernalia. Linen or cotton tablecloths freshly ironed, wild flowers cut from the gardens of the farmhouse, aromatic plants, a nice household and glassware, candles and simple details that only help you convey that love you want to put in your wedding.
To celebrate a wedding in the Torre del Visco is to go in search of the intimacy offered by the space and the beauty of its surroundings. It is to want to enjoy long after-dinner meals and a celebration without timing. In any of its courtyards and gardens you can celebrate a civil wedding, and in the vicinity of the estate is the small chapel dedicated to San Pedro de Verona where you can celebrate a religious ceremony. And for the menu, there is nothing better than relying on the healthy, seasonal and sustainable cuisine prepared by the Torre de Visco’s own cooking team, with dishes that are supplied by the estate’s organic vegetable garden, the meat and game from the area and the fish and seafood that are close to the Mediterranean. Everything to enjoy a sybarite experience of a wedding with country taste and smell.
