Lucía and José’s big wedding in Valencia: Amsterdam, the preparations and the ceremony (Part i)

You may know Lucía and José better as Anker Prod, their professional name with which they travel around Spain and the world making wonderful wedding videos. They met at the University studying Audiovisual Communication and since then “we are best friends, co-workers, travelers, life and love. We spend 24 hours a day glued to each other for about 7 years, and yet we are more in love than ever,” confesses Lucía. But until we get here, on her wedding day, we would first have to make a stop in Amsterdam, since it was on a trip they made together as friends to this city that they realized “that we were really in love from the first day”. Since then they return every year to what has become their favourite city… and one of the protagonists of the wedding.

They promised themselves in November on one of their unavoidable trips to Amsterdam (it couldn’t be in another city!), and although because of their work as wedding videographers they have been to places halfway around the world, they were very clear that their wedding would be celebrated in Valencia(-9.), a land that has their heart and to which they are proud to belong. In addition, the bride had a special illusion that her grandfather “and the most special person in my life”, saw her getting married. It couldn’t be, but Lucía knows that “he would see us from there, wherever he is now”.

A love story that begins in Amsterdam and continues with her wedding on a Sunday in Valencia.

Always together, even in the preparations prior to dressing as a bride and groom.

As a good protagonist of her love story Amsterdam appears in the wedding invitations made by a good friend of the couple and graphic designer Pepa Catalá, who illustrated the invitation with a map of the city. As a curiosity, the dress codeof her wedding prayed: ‘Wear something you’ve always wanted to wear for a wedding and you’ve never been able to wear because you haven’t dared’. Although this would not be the only unusual fact of the wedding of Lucía and José, full of personal details and celebrated in her own way.

Without superstitions or traditions, the couple decided to make the previous preparations together, in their own newly opened house: “It was something we had been thinking about ever since the idea of a wedding arose in our minds. We wanted to dress together there to be calm, to keep in mind all the time how beautiful that moment is and not to get nervous about nonsense. Try to concentrate on the love we feel for each other and prepare ourselves for the most beautiful day of our lives“.

The Beatles sounding in the background, champagne glasses, Lucía’s bridesmaids keeping her company as well, and those previous moments of slow and fun with Jose in the living room, just before it all starts. A very personal decision to dress as a bride and groom and go out together towards their own wedding (which we also saw in THIS wedding), which denotes even more the complicity that exists between this beautiful couple.

Own style, cooland with a lot of roll for the wedding styles of Lucía and José.

Personally, for Tendencias de Bodas Magazine & Blog, the wedding of Lucía and José is the perfect exponent of our ‘slow wedding’ philosophy. A wedding made from the heart, in their own style and where what surrounds them is special; and that, in addition, gives us a lot of inspiration, ideas and moments to take good note of. All reflected in marvellous photographs (commissioned by the photographer Javier Diez de Diez & Bordons) that transport us there, to their most intimate moments.

Lucía y Jose’s style is his own, cool and with a lot of roll that was also reflected in his own wedding styles. Lucía opted for a bride style (24. ) boho-chicwith dress of two piecesof straight skirt of crepe and topof closed neck and long sleeve in guipur of flowers (under abandeau also in crepe). She wanted to look and feel very herself, so she personally designed her dress together with the Valencian dressmaker Dolores Mollá. To complete her bridal look Lucía chose golden sandals with thick heels, maxi earrings (so fashionable), vintage rings given by her friends and grandmother and the romantic counterpoint of her bridal bouquet and her spectacular flower crown XXL.

By the way, special mention to the wonderful vintageJapanese kimono (dating from 100 years ago) that her bridesmaids gave her and that she wore during her preparations. Her beauty lookwas simple and natural, with loose hair (with crown prominence) and a discreet but flattering make-upwith eyeliner and burgundy lips.

For his boyfriend lookJose plays between a classic style(with black suit jacket and custom shirt) and touches more folk(with snakeskin boots and bow tie).

Duster for ceremony, decoration chic boho(-24.), live music, laughter and tattooed wedding rings.

“Our particular covenant for all life”(-9.), thus the bride tells us her unusual choice of tattooing the initial of each one’s name on the middle finger to monkey covenant. They did it a week before the wedding, in another of the many details that they did in their own way and that make their wedding so special and different.

Carmen was in charge of the organization and decoration of the wedding, of El Jardín de Mamá Ana, whom they have known for years and in whom they trust blindly; so much so that they gave her absolute freedom to create all the decoration and flowers. They only gave him two premises: they wanted a style boho-chic with candles, fruits and long tables, and for the ceremony they wanted feather duster (one of the star flowers of the season). What they did know is that they didn’t want someone who didn’t know them officiating at the wedding, so the ceremony was officiated by one of their best friends.

Theirs was an outdoor ceremonyin the beautiful and well-kept gardens of the Masia Mas Les Lloses(-28.), decorated with the simplicity of the scissor-type chairs of light wood, one welcome corner with wooden posters and lettering, ethnic and esparto carpets, wild style floral arrangements and the spectacular wedding backdropas a point of attention: a semicircle of feather duster and flowers that enveloped the bride and groom.

In Lucia’s own words: “The ceremony was amazing. We had no idea what was going to happen, we had only said that we wanted it to be super fast, maximum 15 minutes and fun, nothing of everyone crying. I remember that I couldn’t stop laughing. During the ceremony my best friend Sonia sang a song very much ours (‘No one is gonna love you’ from Band of Horses) and it was very exciting. Jose cried and everything, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen him cry in public. After the ceremony we went for a second alone to think about how beautiful everything had been and how much we love each other.
